OLA Coaching Clinic: January 3rd (Community Development, Box)

Ontario Lacrosse to Host Community Development Coaching Clinic for Box Lacrosse on January 3, 2026

In preparation of the upcoming box lacrosse season, the Ontario Lacrosse Association (OLA) announces its first coaching clinic for prospective box lacrosse teams. This clinic is open to all prospective box lacrosse coaches who register to attend, but specifically aims to assist with coaches who are away or unavailable during the months of March, April and May because of other commitments.

Community Development (Box) is required for all coaches of U7, U9, U11 and U13 lacrosse teams, as well as for all coaches who coach in any division at U15 and above who are in their first year of coaching box lacrosse beginning in 2026.

Location: The Hill Academy (20490 Porterfield Road, Caledon, ON)

Date: Saturday January 3rd

Date: 9AM - 3PM

Fall Coaching Certification: Combined Box + Field Sessions

Written

The Ontario Lacrosse Association will host a coaching clinic on Saturday, September 7th at Maxwell
Heights Secondary School (1100 Coldstream Drive, Oshawa ON). The clinic will be 9AM - 5PM, and will
offer the following certification options:

 

Community Development COMBINED

$275/coach Minor Box & Minor Field: U9, U11, U13


Competitive Introduction COMBINED

$390/coach Minor Box & Minor Field: U15, U17, Junior, Senior

*note: being certified at Community Development is a pre-requisite to attend this course

Additional clinic dates may be added on an on-going basis, where necessary. Coaches are required to complete all associated requirements in order to receive full qualification. Registration space may be limited by facility permits and/or provincial regulations for many of these clinics. Registration for each session is closed one week prior to each clinic date. OLA Policy Updates: Code of Conduct, Social Media and Content Use

Written

Today, the OLA has announced updates to its Code of Conduct (including an adoption of the Universal Code of Conduct to Prevent and Address Maltreatment in Sport), its Social Media Conduct Policy and its Media Rights and Content Use Policy. These documents have been circulated to each Member League and Member Club, and are posted here for reference. 

In adopting these policies, the OLA has rescinded all previous policies related to Code of Conduct and Harassment in order to replace them with these updated documents. OLA Participants, Member Clubs and Member Leagues are hereby notified that these policies are now in effect.
